Absolutely Nice Vintage – Brochure.

I go creating a fold out leaflet for a local vintage furniture shop.

Quick research into different folding techniques. I knew straight away that I would rather create a fold out brochure for people to interact with rather than a typical A5 booklet, so I have looked into effective folding out leaflets on Pinterest.
First sketches on how I might get this to be an interactive fold out leaflet.
This is the existing branding for Absolutely Nice Vintage which I got sent to me, I will be trying to stick to these colours and typefaces, but I won't let it restrict me too much.
They have kindly sent over a very big selection of photos of their products for me to use, along with a selection of photos of the showroom shop floor.
Here is their existing website, which I describe as organised chaos, with their homepage having images of their products at different sizes dotted around the page that all move at different paces when you scroll, which is something I might look at playing around with in my fold out leaflet.
I have started off with an A1 artboard which on one side I have placed a big image of their showroom, then on the other side having a selection of their favourite products.
I had another idea where you would see this on the front, not really sure what gains this would have but I really like the composition of this phot with chairs in and can see potential to use it in some designs later down the line.
I had an initial idea of having this foldout design partially contained in something like a little pouch, which I have then quickly made in Illustrator by using the logos provided which could work well as a cutout to get the foldout design out of it.
I have added in a rough paper texture to make it a little clearer that it is a separate component to the foldout.
This would show where the foldout has been folder out fully which would give me the space to work with.
Starting from a new direction for the fold out booklet, this time using the imagery to talk for itself rather than working around the main image.

Maps! I had a brainwave idea about creating these guy's fold out leaflet in the style of a map. Maybe one side could have a vintage map of Carlisle on the back, then on the other side is just a long set of images of their products and information about them.
First attempt at creating the front and back cover for my map styled fold out.
Setting out a base to work on for the layout of the main page.
Looking closer into the detailing for every image with the correct names and text for every image laid out clearly.
Experimenting with a white background to let the images fit in my more easily and moving the type around to fit as well as possible.
Going for a big change in pace by having a massive typographic statement working with their imagery for the big 'keep me' factor of the hand out.
A mockup made in Photoshop after folding a plain piece of paper in the same way to bring the design to life a little better before sending it to print.
Printing out the final designs.
Folding the design to get it into shape.
Here it is! My final outcome for this project, a nice little fold out leaflet that can fit in your pocket.
