D&AD — Twister.

Working my way down a long road to create some guerilla marketing for the latest Twister D&AD brief.

Guerrilla Marketing research.
Some eye catching things that I have found on Instagram recently.
Some very rough and quick mockups applying the Twister colours to ordinary places such as road markings and escalators.
Reworking the zebra crossing to feel slightly more thought out and realistic.
Quick mockup of turning usual high street bollards into Twisters.
An idea to cover up any stair handrails with a giant Twister Ice Cream quickly mocked up with the nearest stairs.
Creating a mockup of a festival ride using the Twister brand colours and identity imagining that Twister could sponsor a big music festival to create that bond with the younger generation.
Exploring other festival ideas.
Researching simpler ideas that could be used in a similar way to promote Twisters.
Turing an advertising pillar into a giant Twister.
An idea to create an interactive billboard when passers by can spin a wheel which moves the background creating a Twister effect, then once it has completed a full circle, you would win a ticket which gives you a free Twister in any available shops.
Playing with typography trying to get it to match the Twister brand.
Creating the background for the moving advertising poster.
Reworking the background by adding more stripes across along with gradients on the colours to make it feel more 3D and believable.
A 'perfect' mockup giving you a rough idea of how this could work on a much smaller scale.
A short video to show how the background would move in real life.
Looking into coupon designs on Pinterest.
Creating the layout for the tickets that would be handed out on the billboard.
Working on the top of the design.
Continuing to edit the designs, now heading for more of a vintage feel to them for some nostalgia for going to the seaside amusements.
My final designs for the free Twister tickets.
Printing out, cutting out and sticking together both the front and the backs of my Twister ticket designs.
Changing my idea slightly so that it is on rectangular billboard rather than a pillar, which makes it easier to mockup digitally and it means that passers by can see all angles of the billboard rather than just one side of it like you would on the pillar idea.
Adding something for passers by to interact with, in this case a rope that they would pull along.
Adding in more text to add more of a 'design' to it and to allow it to stand out a little more.
Changing the layout and adding less to be bold.
Working on another bit of copywriting along with it in a mockup.
Asking if less is more even futher.
Putting the latest idea in a mockup of a bus stop billboard with the rope and ticket machine next to it.
Pull for a Twist. Reworking some short copywriting to make it clearer on how to interact with the advertising campaign.
Quick animation showing what happens when you pull the string across.
Working on some copywriting to go with an animation set on a phone to more directly hit the target audience.
My animation mocked up on a phoneto show how you would come across this advert on TikTok.
Creating another mockup from inside a shopping centre.
The end result of using After Effects to bring my mockup of the shopping centre billboard to life.
My final submission with added music to make it feel that little bit more believable to anyone who watches it.
